Donald Trump mocked Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with a new nickname Saturday night as the pair prepared to campaign separately in Florida ahead of the midterm elections.

Trump will appear in Miami on Sunday with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, while DeSantis will be at Sun City Center as part of his "Don't Trade on Florida" tour.

Before his trip to Florida, Trump appeared to boo DeSantis, a potential rival in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, during a rally in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
The former president called his opponent "Desanctimonious" while discussing the poll numbers that gave him a wide lead over DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence.
He said, “We're winning the Republican nomination, big, big, big, like nobody's seen before.
"Let's see, here he is, Trump at 71 [percent], Ron De Sanctimonius at 10 percent, Mike at 10 percent. Oh, Mike's doing better than I thought."

According to polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight, two recent polls conducted by Big Village between Nov. 2 and Nov. 4 gave Trump a 53 percent to 30 percent lead, or 56 percent to 27 percent.
However, a Victory Insights poll conducted in Florida's DeSantis state between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 showed a 50-50 tie between Trump and the governor. Victory Insights did not receive a survey rating from FiveThirtyEight.
After using the new nickname for DeSantis, some conservatives expressed frustration that Trump would try for the governorship so close to the key midterm elections.

Conservative radio host Mark Davis tweeted: "Not going well. Not every Trump fan is a big fan of DeSantis, but a broad conservative base that appreciates both, this ******* No desire for competition ."
