Lwrc M6ic Review - Looking for a new rifle? One of our most popular rifles for years has been the LWRC M6IC, and for good reason, it's a feature-packed rifle at an extremely reasonable price.
Most people have probably heard of LWRC, but I doubt many know what it means. LWRC stands for Land Warfare Resources Corporation, but is not known as LWRC International, LLC, which is funny, if you know anything about business structure, I am amused by the name of a company owned by an LLC.

One of the reasons the LWRC M6IC is such a great value for the price is all the features the rifle has.

Some features are just a nice touch. Some of them significantly improve the functionality of the weapon.
Like many rifle manufacturers, LWRC has been using Magpul grips for a long time, and you need plenty of pictures of LWRC rifles and Magpul grips online.
The custom grip reminds me of the Magpul K grip as the LWRC grip has a slightly sticky texture. The handle has a unique pattern and a unique feel.
I love the texture on the front and back of the handle for a great grip.

The safety lever is the same length on both sides of the gun and is quite high.
It's a great ledge to rest your finger on for easy or safe firing.
It also has a nice millwork with a hollow center of the dial. This is mostly just aesthetic and not any useful feature.
Most AR-15 rifles typically only have the magazine release on the right side of the firearm.
Ic Enhanced 5.56
With the M6IC, there is an option to release the magazines on both sides of the weapon. The right side of the pistol has a standard magazine button.
There is nothing special about the magazine release button on the right side of the gun, so it will feel very familiar.
On the left side of the gun is an additional paddle that rotates the magazine release rod and allows the magazine to fall freely.
Ambidextrous magazine release is nothing new, but I really like being able to release my magazine from either side of the gun if needed.
Meet The Lwrc Ic Spr: A Premium (and Best?) Ar 15 Rifle
The slide stop/slide release, whatever you want to call it, is another control that is ambidextrous and extremely easy to use on either side of the rifle.
If you have experience with an AR rifle, you know that the slide stop is usually on the left side of the gun, usually just above and in front of the trigger.
You normally press the button with your left thumb to release the bolt if you just put a new magazine in the gun, or if you need to lock the bolt to the release, you can press it by pulling back on the charging handle with the right. arm.

With the LWRC M6IC, you can press the same type of release button to release the bolt after loading the loaded magazine.

This is great because you'll be able to practice getting the gun up and on target while changing the magazine and theoretically very little movement of the rifle itself.
The LWRC DI charging handle has two large pull eyes on either side of the charging handle.
It reminds me of the Radian Raptor charging handle and works flawlessly. This adds to one of the many nice things about this gun, you don't need to change this part to get a quality charging handle.
While the trigger button isn't a special factory mil-spec trigger, it's nice and does the job.

The only major difference between this trigger is the lack of a grip. The break is very clean. I love this trigger, the only thing I would change is that it was flat.
One of the unique things about the LWRC rifle is the QR code on the side of the gun.
The code is actually called a Unique Item Identification Code, or IUID, and is used by the US military to scan and track inventory.
While this barcode doesn't do much for the average person, it's a unique and cool feature of the gun that, if nothing else, is a cool conversation piece.

The barrel is a head turner and I mean that because the LWRC barrel can't be missed. They have a spiral flute on the barrel that is hard to miss.
The flute runs almost from the end of the barrel to the barrel nut. This flute looks great and also helps reduce the weight of the front end of the gun.
I have a 16 inch LWRC M6IC but this barrel profile is on almost all of their guns. I don't see any downsides to this design and I really like how mine is working so far!
The hand guard is one of the few downsides to this gun, but let me dive into that a bit before I judge.

The main reason I don't like the hand guard is that it has a particularly proprietary hand guard, and I mean that in two ways.
Unfortunately, LWRC has its own proprietary mounting system. It is similar to the M-Lok but has rounded corners. The great thing is that it comes with track plates and a handbrake.
However, this does limit the attachment of your add-ons, but we'll cover that further in the add-ons section.
Overall, the hand guard feels good in your hands and is very well built. The handguard is a one-piece free-floating rail and attaches only to LWRC's proprietary upper receiver.

Accessories are the most expensive part of a gun if you ask me! Since you can never just buy a weapon, you have to trick it or it just feels incomplete!

Of course, if you're shooting less than 100 yards with this gun, you may want to consider a red dot sight, and the options for AR-15 red dot sights are endless.
Rail guards sit on both sides of the rail, making gripping the rail a great experience and also helps protect your hand from the heat generated by the barrel during both rapid and long course of fire.
The official model name of this pistol is the LWRC IC DI Standard 5.56. But as you can see in the pictures above, the bottom one is labeled M6IC and the top one is IC-DI.
The overall look of the gun is well done and fits very well. Although at first glance the pistol looks like a standard AR-15, a closer look reveals a very meticulous attention to detail.

The 5.56 NATO/.223 ammo is what the M6IC uses to this day, it has shot everything I have fed it.
My final thoughts on this LWRC rifle are: It's amazing. If you're looking for a quality gun that delivers a lot of utility, look no further than this LWRC DI rifle.
If you're looking for a gun that can hold almost every accessory known to man, this might not be the gun for you.
While the LWRC rifle has a variety of options and rail mounts, it is not as versatile as the M-Lok system.

I still won't pass on the LWRC rifle, even with a long list of proprietary parts and features, the rifle itself is high quality and a great AR-15.
The rifle comes with so many upgraded parts that you hardly need to buy any aftermarket parts to make this gun "proper".
